And now we have responses...

Some very passionate comments to the reply that was intended for the Globe's editors.

And we can't say we disagree one bit.

The Globe is the ignorant lapdog of Anderson and her ilk. They're nothing more than the mouthpiece of the statusquo. If only Irma had realized her number was up, Richmond wouldn't be the mess it is.

It is my opinion that the Globe is nothing more than a rag to line your birdcage to catch droppings! It is the most racist paper in Richmond today. It never has anything about the everyday people of Richmond.
Many African-American people including myself are offended, insulted and ashamed that this raggedy Black give away paper, claims to represent the Black community ! BS! These people are wannabe boojies who actually exploit and use us for their own gains. This paper does nothing more than use Race, Sex and Plantation Politics to divide our community. Whitmore and Boswell-Raines who put out this weekly rag should apologize to the community.
To use a newspaper to punish another person because another candidate ran against an incumbent is total bull[xxxx]. The Globe will always be remebered as the paper to serve Whitmore and Boswell-Raines Masters and to use the paper to keep dividing us Black folks even more.
This paper needs to keep their nose out of our business! Next time you go into one of our Black churches here in town, look at the stacks and stacks of the back editions of the Globe in the lobbies, that should tell you a lot right there. That we as an African-American community in Richmond are not reading your Master's propoganda!

I just got my notice that the Tazer was online raising hell about that chickshi+ paper the Globe. That paper has done more negative press and hurt more people than I can remember when.

What gives them the right to use slander and a rumormill, and call it news. Plantation politics sure had it right! Race and sex politics is what that witches brew of a newspaper is about.

What difference does any of it make now? Gayle won. The council race is decided. People were turned away from the polls, and there is nothing anybody can do about it now, even if they fix it next time around. And only a fraction of those who could've done something about it even bothered to show up at the polls, so nobody is a real winner here, Tazer.

True to form, we're still bickering with each other, as we have always done. No point it me pointing out the obvious, because if it made one iota of difference somebody would have heard.

There is no undoing this past year. But I hope there is a lesson for the future.

The City of Richmond lost this one for itself. We have nobody to blame fo us, but us.

The question is, more aptly, "What are you gonna do about it", isn't it?

Hold those horses! The county counters are still picking through the absentee ballots, so don't count your council and environazis until they're truly seated. I don't know where you see bickering but what I am seeing here on the Tazer is righteous complaining over voting SNAFU and possibile fraud and defamation. If that doesn't upset you and you're resigned to your fate go ahead and lie down to be out of the way of those of us who give a crap. What we're gonna do about it is keep Richmond from being the real loser!

After having read the slanderous piece in this weeks Globe entitled:
"Gary Bell:the spoilers dilemma", I was shocked and outraged at the filth that Vernon Whitmore published, was nothing more than a hateful personal attack upon Gary Bell.
The reality is not many people voted in this mid-term election here in Richmond! Why? Nixon in the mid 70's coined the phrase he represented the 'silent majority'.
The reason nobody really voted in huge numbers for mayor's race was rather simple and obvious. Because there was just such poor choices to vote to the Mayor's office.

So the silent majority of Richmond, give a silent protest to express our concerns about Irma, Gary and Gayle. And protest was we did not vote any of you for Mayor or City Council. Because all three of you are seen as failures now and into the future. We had the power to say, that that none of you are worthy of the honor of our votes, much less become the Mayor!

Vernon Whitmore shows his true colors of yellow running down his back and of being a coward because he could not have it his way.
