A man remains in stable condition this morning at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek after he was shot at least five times Wednesday evening in North Richmond, the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office said.

San Pablo police were called by Kenneth Feliz, 26, at Rumrill Boulevard and Pine Avenue in San Pablo around 6:30 p.m., Contra Costa Lt. Charles Skuce said.

Feliz told police he was shot five or six times in the torso at an unknown location. Investigators later determined that location was Second Street and Silver Avenue in North Richmond.
Feliz was first taken to Doctors Hospital in San Pablo and flown later to John Muir, where he was initially listed in stable condition.

Police and sheriff's deputies have no suspect information.

    Something smells about this story...

Do you realize how far away 2nd/Silver is from Rumrill/Pine? For sure it crosses 2 sets of railroad tracks, and the "terrain" is...rugged...

Not like I'm saying the guy deserved to get shot -- and shot 5 times -- but I get the sinking suspicion he may have been doing something he wasn't supposed to.

Man live and let die. Thats what those folks at the city hall must say. They are pretty cold blooded about how people are dying.
