An open letter to the Tazer...
On behalf of Tazer friend Mike Ali we publish this letter:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wish to formally apologize to the individual that I had written about with regards to the campaign literaure in lasts week's edition. I wish it clearly to be stated for the record that I alone was responisble and accountable for that storyboard, as I did make some errors.
I apologize for any discomfort or inconvenience to that individual, as I should have done better on checking details. I wish to thank Gerald Hatchett for a for his being the mediator, so we could resolve this issue and move on.
Sincerely,
Michael Ali
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for that, Mike. Anyone else who wishes to speak to this incident, or any issue surrounding it, may do so. The Tazer stands open as the people's forum.

Honesty and leadership go hand in hand. It's the only way to go.

Mike, it sounds like you took some lumps. Is it enough? Depends on if Anderson or Gioia decide to make something of it, I suppose. However, that likewise leaves them open, so I don't think anything will materialize.
At any rate, you seem like you've been up front and forthright on the matter, which is more than I believe Anderson or Gioia can say.

Ali has proved that he is good community leader. It must have been a hard road to go down. With over 182 deaths from violence and killing, with a unpopular mayor nobody wants and Richmond being pretty much a poor third world city, it is amazing that he even tries to make this community a better place. God bless you, Mike.

Mike really reminds me a lot of the traditions of Cesar Chavez. He is almost the only real statesman that we have here in Richmond. What Mike represents is a political stability in very unstable times. Anderson, Gioia and the rest of the West County Mafia days are numbered.

Tazer, Tazer, Tazer, my how you seem to love planting individual opinions which are sometimes misleading as this one was.
Why don't you stick to what you seem dedicated to - discrediting Mayor Anderson with childish (sic)antics and leave Gioia out of it?
When you jumped at the opportunity to broadcast an individual's questionable activity, you should have left it at that and not named Gioia's office as being involved (without FIRST being sure of your opinion & false accusation).
It sometimes seems like the Tazer is just another Richmond Thug pushing imaginary weight around.
Grow up and give it a rest.

GIB - Don't get your panties in a bunch over this. You too might be concerned with the INTEGRITY of what gets posted here and how it might impact yourself (and others) if you were incorrectly accused of something.
If being concerned with the TRUTH makes me anti-Tazer, so be it.
I thought this blog site was named Richmond Truth Tazer because TRUTH is what it's all about!

If people witnessed campaign literature being illegally distributed in violation of State law, then thats how that is. If numerous witnesses saw the same thing occur on that day, it must be true. It sounds like to me your candidate got busted by folks and this the best you can respond with.
God do I feel sorry for you and your kind.

Good afternoon, "anonymous" sockpuppet! Since your comment hasn't been edited or erased, I hope you've figured out that the Tazer has a capacity for fairness and balance...which Irma Anderson has been known to lack in council session, gavel and all...
But that cheapshot aside, it seems that observations were made, discussed, pointed out, and published. As I said before, if anything untoward happened on behalf of any candidate I say let the chips fall where they may. My perspective on truth is that it ought to be merciless and prevail every time no matter what. Take it to court and have it sorted.
Now this isn't to say I'm not partisan or biased. I admit that I am very much so. I have any variety of bones to pick with Gioia outside of campaign irregularities, so keeping this within the scope of a mayoral election, we can whittle beef down to Anderson alone, and there's plenty of that already. Admit it: if she campaigned on city property on city time, that's wrong.
Anyone you'd like to point a finger at for campaign violations? Go for it. Meanwhile, she's still selling a bill of goods on a stack of corpses. I'll be discussing real issues with the adults, if you don't mind.
As for pushing around imaginary weight, people who read the Tazer have opinions, discuss them, and vote, so I wouldn't exactly call that "imaginary." Irma Anderson better have a REALLY good imagination if she can see me voting for her.
